Flying to Asheville

I am venturing into new territory...not because it is unexplored (for we all know there are many a good blogs here), not because I have exhausted my findings in Black Mountain (because I have barely scratched the surface), but because this little birdie loves Asheville and just can't help but want to share.
So, next time you are around...stop in and treat yourself. If you are visiting from out of town, you may even want to stay in the luxury Biltmore Villas located right in the Village...affordable, beautiful, and walkable to all of the Biltmore Village. And regarding dinner...I suggest the Pecan Crusted Mountain Trout (a regular on the menu) and some Bread Pudding...if you have room!
My first stop in Asheville (but surely not my last) is at the Corner Kitchen, a restaurant I have long adored. A favorite among locals and a true find for any visitor, this cozy house, now restaurant, has a great history of food within its walls. It is part of The Biltmore Village, an area steeped in history and architectural beauty. One of their most recent claims to fame is hosting President Obama and his wife for dinner during their visit to Asheville.
The last time I was there I had the chance to sit at the Chef's counter. The active bustle of the restaurant and the great care given to each artfully displayed dish was entertaining, even a bit intoxicating. I wish I could have ordered five entrees as they all looked divine. If the counter isn't your cup of tea, they also have wonderful seating in their glass enclosed porch/bar area or the more private dining rooms that you can find throughout the house.
